As a consultant, Alex frequently invests in his clients when opportunities align, combining his deep entrepreneurial background and financial expertise to guide SaaS founders toward success. With a wealth of experience building and managing businesses, Alex understands strategic finance, business planning, and revenue operations.

    CEO and Owner of XO Espresso Bar

    In 2022, Alex Schifter acquired XO Espresso Bar, a specialty coffee bar known for its premium coffee and wellness drinks. Alex secured investor financing to acquire two Miami-based café locations and now serves as the CEO, overseeing every aspect of business development, including financial planning, procurement, human resources, and payroll.

    Under Alex’s leadership, XO Espresso Bar has ventured into wholesale operations and is actively pursuing new locations and potential franchise partnerships. Later this year, the company will open a new XO Espresso Bar in an upscale Miami Beach area. Additionally, Alex secured a three-year exclusive coffee supply and consulting agreement with Yann Couvreur, marking a significant milestone in the company's growth.

    Co-founder of Hello Arthur: Bridging Gaps in Healthcare Supply Chains

    Alex co-founded Hello Arthur in 2021, a marketplace that simplifies the process of purchasing medical and dental supplies directly from manufacturers. Hello, Arthur helps customers save on costs by offering direct access to suppliers. The company’s name honors Alex’s grandfather, Arthur Schifter, who contributed to distributing medical supplies during the AIDS pandemic.

    Although Hello Arthur grew to six figures in revenue, Alex ultimately decided to wind down operations and focus exclusively on XO Espresso Bar due to business challenges.

    Building a Foundation in Investment Banking

    Investment Bank Analyst at AGC Partners

    Alex’s career in finance began in 2015 as an Investment Bank Analyst at AGC Partners in Boston after completing internships at Consilium Partners and Piper Jaffray (now Piper Sandler). AGC Partners is a boutique investment bank specializing in M&A advisory services for technology companies in the middle market. Investment banker specializing in technology, with experience at multiple regional boutiques from 2015 to 2020, Alex worked on both buy-side and sell-side engagements. His responsibilities included preparing client pitch books, financial models, and marketing materials necessary to execute successful M&A transactions.

    Associate at DCA

    In 2017, Alex joined DCA, a boutique investment bank in New York, as a senior analyst and was later promoted to associate. DCA advises digital media and frontier technology companies. During his time there, Alex worked on ten deals, including sell-side advisory and equity capital raises. He prepared financial models, valuations, and Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs) while researching sectors like advertising, eCommerce, and OTT. He also supported due diligence for venture capital investments for DCA’s Managing Partner and CEO.

    Associate at Pharus Advisors

    Next, Alex worked as an Associate at Pharus Advisors, a merchant bank based in New York. Pharus specializes in M&A advisory for the technology and growth sectors. Alex contributed to several deals, focusing on sell-side advisory and equity capital raises. He also helped develop a successful business development pipeline in the eCommerce, retail technology, and SaaS industries.

    Vice President at Trousdale Capital Management

    At Trousdale Capital Management (now Numeta Capital), Alex served as Vice President, working on sourcing and executing investments in high-growth enterprise software companies. His role included evaluating investment opportunities, performing due diligence, and preparing financial models and KPI reports. Alex contributed to two successful growth equity investments during his time at Trousdale, one of which was a majority investment and the other a minority investment.

    Educational Background: From Tufts University to the Track

    Alexander Schifter graduated from Tufts University with a Bachelor’s in Economics and a Minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies. While at Tufts, he competed as a varsity athlete on the Men’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams for six seasons. His commitment to athletics taught him valuable time management and discipline lessons, which have influenced his professional journey.

    Giving Back: Philanthropy and Community Involvement

    Alex has remained active in philanthropy throughout his career, offering both time and resources to various causes. He raised funds for the Pan Mass Challenge, a bike-a-thon supporting cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. Alex has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and raised funds for the ALS Association Greater New York Chapter. His charitable efforts include donations to Yehudi and Chabad of Midtown Miami.
